Additional furloughs and health benefits added as Drive Motor Retail focuses on staff

Health benefits, enhanced annual leave and subsidized gym memberships are part of a new wellness package introduced for staff at the AM100 Drive Motor Retail dealership group.

Car and van dealership Vauxhall, MG and Citroën has strengthened its benefits package in a bid to improve work-life balance for employees and provide more flexibility at work.

Every Drive Motor Retail employee will automatically be entitled to two additional days of annual leave, regardless of length of service, and the range of additional health benefits includes a cash-based healthcare plan, which provides access to a online general practitioner and money for dental treatment. , checkups, physiotherapy sessions and more.

Staff are also entitled to online counseling sessions and discounted gym memberships.

Rob Keenan, co-chief executive, said he believes this sets Drive ahead of industry standards in rewarding and supporting staff.

“We recognize the importance of making every Drive employee feel valued and ensuring we attract the best talent in the industry, which I hope the new benefits plan will help us do.”

Co-Chief Executive Stuart Harrison added: “We’ve had a strong 2021 and we know we can’t continue to grow this year without the hard work of our team, so we believe rewarding existing employees and attracting new new ones these will be very useful for us to pursue our growth plans.

The company, which won Vauxhall’s 2019 European Dealer of the Year award, has more than 700 employees across 16 dealerships and this year introduced improved apprenticeship awards.

During National Apprenticeship Week in February, Drive revealed that apprentice car technicians at its 16 UK dealerships will benefit from paid driving lessons; a monetary award six months after qualification; and other guaranteed bonus payments for years three and five after qualification.

Apprentices who qualified in 2021 will also be eligible for the new benefits and will receive their first reward retrospectively, he added.

In December, at its “Overdrive” awards ceremony, Drive hosted more than 250 employees at a black-tie event and presented awards to approximately 60 employees.
