Health insurance subscription period now open in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) – The market registration period for health insurance opened on November 1 for residents of Mobile.

What is the marketplace?

Marketplace is a federal program that allows residents to compare and sign up for health coverage plans, including health insurance programs like Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama and private government sponsored programs like United Healthcare.

How to register for the program?

Residents register for the program through an online health insurance application.

The Mobile County Health Department and Family Health are ensuring Mobilians have access to nominee counselors if they need help completing this year’s 2022 health plan.

These application counselors are certified and can help residents complete eligibility and enrollment forms, according to a press release from the Mobile County Department of Health.

It is a free service provided by all family health centers in Mobile County, the statement said.

The registration period is open from November 1 to January 15.

Residents who apply before midnight on December 15 can get full coverage starting January 1, according to the release.
