Insurance Enrollment Now Open Through Affordable Care Act | Local News

The registration period for individual health insurance in the federal market began on Monday.

The 75-day period, ending January 15, gives people who do not have insurance in the course of their work the opportunity to enroll, re-enroll or change their health insurance plan within the under the Affordable Care Act.

Three companies are offering plans through the NH Marketplace: Anthem, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Ambetter, according to a press release from Gov. Chris Sununu’s office on Monday.

Usually, the annual registration deadline is only 45 days, but it has been extended this year by 30 days to encourage more people to register, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Appointments can be scheduled on the Court Street campus until January, according to hospital spokeswoman Heather Atwell.

People can enroll in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) at any time of the year.
