Annual enrollment in Saint Leo University employee health plans will take place from February 1-14, 2022, all changes taking effect on April 1, 2022. For this year’s annual enrollment, formerly known as open enrollment, our plan providers are introducing additional services and increasing plan costs.
It’s important to keep in mind that while cost increases are a stark reality, ICUBA’s plans continue to increase at a much lower rate nationwide than other insurance plans. The university works diligently with ICUBA to ensure that our services provide quality health care coverage at a competitive price.
Changes to medical insurance
For the 2022-2023 benefit year, ICUBA has added several new features to medical coverage with the aim of providing a holistic approach to employee well-being, including:
⢠Embolden health: A network of high-quality physicians focusing on key specialties such as pediatrics, cardiology, obstetrics, orthopedics and more, all for a co-payment of $ 0!
⢠Legal shield: Get legal advice on anything by having a lawyer on demand. Connect immediately with 24/7 access for emergencies.
⢠Wellness program improvements: Increased Rally Reward Opportunities, with a new maximum incentive total of $ 380 (up from $ 330)
As expected, premium costs will increase in plan year 2022-2023. The Preferred PPO plan (our most popular plan) and the high deductible plan will increase by 4.3 percent. Additionally, the Premier Copay plan will be phased out as of April 1, 2022 (the start of the new plan year). During annual enrollment, employees will need to log in and choose the preferred PPO plan or the high deductible plan. If an employee is enrolled in the Premier Copay plan and fails to make a different medical coverage choice during the annual enrollment period, the employee will default to the Preferred PPO plan.
Changes to dental insurance
For the 2022-2023 benefit year, there will be no change to dental benefits. No premium increase!
Changes in vision insurance
For the 2021-2022 benefit year, Saint Leo University will continue with our current provider, Eye Med. The allowances will remain the same for the basic plan and the buy-back plan. No premium increase!
LegalShield – NEW!
Starting in the 2022-2023 benefit year, Saint Leo University will offer employees the option of purchasing LegalShield. You can register during annual registration, and payment for this benefit will be processed through payroll deductions.
The ICUBA health plans are just one of the many employer-provided benefits of the total compensation offered to Saint Leo employees. Total compensation statements outlining all selected benefits during calendar year 2021 will be mailed to employees in February 2022. Faculty and staff receive a generous employer-funded contribution to those participating in the pension plan 403b, 13 paid public holidays, Christmas break, tuition discount and tuition exchange for employees and their dependents.
More details on annual membership and coverages will be sent out in the coming weeks. If you have any questions, please contact the Total Rewards Human Resources team at email@example.com.
