Vermont Medicare Enrollment Deadline Approaches This Week

MONTPELIER, Vermont (WCAX) – Vermonters have two days left to take advantage of $ 25 million in health care grants.

We told you about these benefits last month. They give Vermonters who already receive grants get more, allow anyone who has applied for unemployment benefits this year to be eligible, and increase the cap on the number of people who can receive benefits.

Officials from the Department of Vermont Health Access say Vermonters who take advantage of these funds will save thousands of dollars each year.

Individuals who receive coverage through Vermont Health Connect are eligible for financial assistance through the American Rescue Plan.

And people who buy their insurance directly from their insurance companies are also eligible if they transfer their plan to the market.

Normally you can only register during open registration, but you can also register for two additional days.

Heads of state say it means more money in the pockets of Vermonters.

“So that people get the health care they need and do not have to postpone or avoid care while having money to pay for it or money for education, food, rent and all the other things we need, that makes a big difference to Vermonters, ”said Sean Sheehan, senior policy analyst for the Department of Vermont Health Access.

A new federal report also shows that the average American paid $ 67 less per month.

Vermonters save $ 186 per person, the most of any state.

Vermonters who do not have health insurance can apply by 4:30 p.m. Friday by calling 855-899-9600. Those who buy their insurance directly from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont or MVP Health Care® can call the same number to transfer their plan and take advantage of the tax credit.
